Soul Retrieval the Study of Shamanic Healing

In the past centuries shamans were held with the utmost of respect. The shamanic healers were considered as important as a chief or general of a Battalion because without the shamanic healing the village or tribe would not survive. Shamanic healing has been mainly associated with an eastern medicine it has been surviving throughout the world in several tribal communities.
Over the years there have been a growing number of contemporary practitioners of shamanic healing. However the shaman was a person who communicates with the spirits and visits other realms or places with their own spirit pathways.
The shamans may use a tool like a drum or rattle to achieve passage into another state of being or another realm of consciousness. The shaman then can enter other worlds or realms. The upper, lower, or middle worlds or realities are then seen by the shaman. These practices are still continued in modern days.
This is where the shaman goes to ask for healing for the patient or whoever needs healing and is general accompanied by there power animals or helpers.
The Shamans believe that illness is the loss of energy and that accident or trauma or ailments can result in loss of life force. Which is vital to ones essence or soul the part of the soul or essence that leaves takes part of the person’s life force. It then goes to the other worlds where the shaman must go to retrieve it.
The loss of life force often leads to depression, problems with ones immune system, as well as rendering the person unable to move on after death. The shaman must go and retrieve the soul and life force this is ‘Soul Retrieval’.
The Shamanic Healer also handles issues regarding issues with power loss. This is caused by core problems with confrontation, unrelenting problems, loss of support of the communities tribal or other wise, loss of self-esteem, stress from family or circumstances involving the family. In this shamanic healing process the shaman has to travel down to the lower levels and find the person’s power animal.
This step boosts the patient’s confidence and gives them the strength to go on or continue with life on a stronger level. It shows them the light they were missing and fills them with ‘power’ again.
The role of the shaman in ancient days or modern days has not changed much. There are several tribes and modern day practitioners working shamanic healing as a major part of their lives. Shamanic healing is very therapeutic and can give aid in counseling or mentoring a person through decision making as well as ‘soul retrieval’ and other more serious needs. The role of the shaman is a great one and is not taken lightly in a tribal village and other communities. Belief in the abilities of the shaman by why of energy is also great. The life force of the tribe is important as a whole and many tribes feel that it should be maintained at all times. Understanding and practicing shamanic beliefs is a life long practice and is a way of life for many.
